Running the ball is going to be more important than ever in 2025. Defenses have skewed towards the recent trend of taking the passing attack away. Offenses across the NFL have begun to use two tight end sets more than ever before, and we are having a revitalization of the fullback position in recent years. It's no wonder new Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak is making this a big point of emphasis.

The Green Bay Packers surprised the NFL landscape by releasing star cornerback Jaire Alexander today. Since entering the league in 2018, Alexander has been one of the better cornerbacks in the sport. He can play man or zone, and so is a good fit for Mike Macdonald's scheme. The Seahawks also have plenty of money, though the cost should be somewhat inexpensive considering Alexander's recent injury history. Let's discuss whether this is the right big move to make at this time.

The mad scientist Mike Macdonald is always cooking up new concepts, looks and confusion he wishes to unleash in all ways on offenses. That continued in his first year as Seattle Seahawks head coach, including the utilization of three-safety looks. With the addition of Nick Emmanwori, the door opens wider for Macdonald to dial up the three-safety usage.

While the Seattle Seahawks continue to improve under new head coach Mike Macdonald, and are well stocked with young talent ready to breakout, they have also done a good job of setting the stage for a few contention run by keeping their salary cap clean. No real bad contracts on the books. No tens of millions of dollars in dead money. Very little use of void years. General Manager John Schneider has set the stage for the Seahawks to be able to be aggressive when the time is right.

With Free Agency and the Draft wrapped up, it's time to take a look at the NFC West teams and assess how the offseason has gone for what has been the toughest division in football for the last few years running. Indeed, the NFC West has at times turned into an arms race. On the show, we're going to take a look at the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams off-seasons and see if they have continued to put the pedal to the metal.

A few years ago, the Seattle Seahawks bucked the rule of thumb, bucked analytics, taking running backs in the second round in back to back seasons. And while currently the Seahawks have as deep and strong stable of backs as you'll find in the NFL, they've struggled to maximize that talent. The rule of thumb has been proven true, at least so far, and given the Front Office and John Schneider a chance to learn some tough lessons.

Like they did last season, Las Vegas oddsmaker's appear to again be missing the boat on their projected record for Seattle Seahawks this upcoming 2025 season. More often than not over the past ten years they have underestimated the Seahawks, and appear to have done it once again for next season.
